Children may be refused admission if the

Health Officer of Schools deems it necessary

for medical reasons.

Pupils coming from another school may not be

admitted unless they furnish a satisfactory leaving

certificate from the head of their last school, nor

may they enter a class higher than that in which they

were at their last school unless they have sucessful-

ly passed an examination entitling them to such pro-

motion.

Except in Kindergarten classes, pupils may be

promoted to a higher class only after qualifying for

such promotion by passing the annual examination, but the Director may grant exemption in special cases.

The Director shall be supplied with a brief

report on every pupil promoted to Class 1 in English

schools without having first passed the Hong Kong

School Certificate Examination.
